The heart and soul of our support for families
Volunteering with Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney is more than just lending a hand; it’s becoming part of a compassionate community that uplifts families during their most challenging times.
For more than 40 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney has been a pillar of support for families with seriously ill and injured children, offering comfort and care throughout their child’s healthcare journey. Our volunteers have always been at the heart of this mission, whether it’s through giving a warm welcome at the front desk of our Westmead House or providing a moment of comfort through our Hospitality Carts at Nepean and Campbelltown Hospitals.
As our services continue to grow to meet the increasing needs of families, so too does our need for compassionate individuals willing to lend their time and hearts of gold. To learn more about becoming a volunteer, we’d love to hear from you through the form below or at (02) 9806 7111.
"The House is the most amazing place and we could not have continued to function as a family and support our daughter without this facility and the support of the staff and volunteers."
Jon, Annie's dad
"The kindness of humans is brought to light when we come here. Staying at the Westmead House has allowed us to model to our daughters the kindness of giving and helping others."
Jarred, Ella's dad
"We were blessed with the most beautiful volunteers and staff anyone could imagine. We are first-time parents so it was one of the scariest times for us and you made us feel at home."
Danielle, Archie's mum
"You all made our days brighter, you saw us at our lowest of lows and our highest of highs. Thank you for all the support during the hardest time of our lives."
Lisa, Eliza's mum
"RMH not only gave us a hot shower, a clean bed, and a place to wash our clothes, but also love and support. We will be forever grateful to the special people who work and volunteer at RMH."
Erica, Ellouise's mum
"RMH truly made what was the worst time for a mother of a newborn to go through become livable again. I could never repay what you all have done for my family and for the time you are all are away from your own family to help others."
Lydia, Thomas's mum
Just as volunteers make a difference in the lives of the families we care for, they also often tell us about the joy it brings to their own lives. Here are some of their incredible volunteering journeys.

Parents don’t know when their children will need medical help. But they should know they can always access the care they need. With your help, we can support them throughout their journey.
