Home-cooked dinner to fill hearts and bellies
We understand that the stress of caring for sick and injured children can be overwhelming, especially when access to nutritious and affordable meals is limited.
To help ease this burden, we welcome families of patients receiving care at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead to a comforting sit-down meal at our Westmead House.
Families can enjoy home-cooked dinners lovingly prepared and served by our dedicated group volunteers on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 6:30 pm, subject to availability.
Families can speak with their ward staff or Social Work at CHW to receive a Meals from the Heart voucher, which are also available at our reception. Vouchers will need to be presented upon arrival.
To ensure a positive experience for all, we can accommodate a limited number of families each night. If all spots are filled upon arrival, Grab & Go meals are available at reception for families to take back to the hospital.
We kindly ask families to review our External Guest Agreement prior to their visit for a quicker check-in process. This agreement must be acknowledged when completing the registration form upon arrival.
Our House is conveniently located at 1 Labyrinth Way, Westmead 2145, accessible via Redbank Rd or a short 300m walk through the gate at the end of Westmead Children’s Hospital children’s garden.
Meals from the Heart for CHW Families is a pilot program running from 1st July 2025 to 1st October 2025. Feedback and suggestions during this period will be invaluable; please help us by sharing yours below.

Parents don’t know when their children will need medical help. But they should know they can always access the care they need. With your help, we can support them throughout their journey.
