Baking a Difference

Fill our House and hearts with the comforts of home baking

Baking a Difference group volunteering at Ronald McDonald House in Westmead

Bring comfort through baking

You’re invited for a heartwarming experience at our Westmead House that’s perfect for team-building or simply lifting spirits.

Join us in our commercial kitchen to prepare comforting, freshly baked snacks and treats. Families feel cared for and supported when they are welcomed home to a tray of warm, delicious baked goods.

What Baking a Difference means to families

When families are constantly in and out of the hospital for treatments and appointments, mealtimes and snacks are often taken on the run. By baking sweet and savoury treats, you’re offering more than just a quick bite—the comforting smells of home-baked goods envelop families with warmth, reassurance, and a bit of joy.

It’s one less thing for families to worry about, and one more way they feel supported.

"The snacks were absolutely amazing and unexpected—extremely helpful while my child was on the ward. Thank you to everyone that makes the House run with so much love."

Thank you for helping us keep the program safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Your Baking a Difference will begin with a warm welcome and a guided tour of the Westmead House. After your baking session, your group will have the opportunity to serve families—a chance to connect, reflect, and see the impact of your generosity firsthand.

Why your support matters

Our meal programs are only possible because of the generosity of organisations and groups. Your involvement directly helps us continue providing comfort, care, and practical support to families during one of the most challenging times in their lives.

The booking fee is a tax-deductible donation that will help us achieve our ambitious goal of increasing our meal services by 70%. This will allow us to provide at least one nutritious meal per day, not only to families staying at the House, but throughout the entire Westmead Health Precinct.
