Non-Resident Families

Support services for patient families at The Children's Hospital at Westmead

Family supported by Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney

Supporting non-resident families, every day

To extend our care beyond those staying at our Westmead House, our doors are now open during the day to welcome all families whose children are receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW), regardless of whether they’re staying at the House.

Whether it’s a moment of respite, a convenient grab-and-go meal, or a hot dinner to end a long day, our programs for non-resident families are designed to offer comfort, connection, and practical support when they need it most.

Day Pass Program

Respite and comfort away from the clinical hospital environment

Grab&Go Meals

Nourishing and accessible meals to alleviate stress around mealtimes

Meals from the Heart

Home-cooked dinner to fill hearts and bellies after a long hospital day

"RMHC has been a source of community, a place to relax, and somewhere to escape the hustle and bustle of the hospital and to let our guard down. We lived locally and weren't staying at the House, but our unique story was recognised and we were given a chance to stay for dinners, use the gym facilities, stay for Day Pass, and felt cared for in a way that was helpful to us.
