Non-Resident Families

Support services for patient families at The Children's Hospital at Westmead

Family supported by Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney

Supporting non-resident families, every day

To extend our care beyond those staying at our Westmead House, our non-resident family programs offer comfort, respite, connection, and practical support when they need it most.

Our Westmead House is open during the day to welcome all families whose children are receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW).

Within CHW, the Ronald McDonald Family Room is also open seven days a week for families to rest and recharge, just moments away from their child’s bedside.

Ronald McDonald Family Room

A comforting sanctuary for families inside The Children's Hospital at Westmead

"RMHC has been a source of community, a place to relax, and somewhere to escape the hustle and bustle of the hospital and to let our guard down. We lived locally and weren't staying at the House, but our unique story was recognised and we were given a chance to stay for dinners, use the gym facilities, stay for Day Pass, and felt cared for in a way that was helpful to us. "

For families with sick kids, being home for the holidays isn't always possible, but with your help, they can still be together, supported and surrounded by care.
