Our Impact

Significant outcomes for families and healthcare/education systems

Thanks to your generosity, Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney supported over 3,500 families in 2024 – 40% more than the previous year. Our Hospitality Carts now operate five days a week at both Campbelltown and Nepean Hospitals, offering comfort and relief to nearly 2,000 families.

Our Day Pass Program also runs five days a week, supporting paediatric patient families of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, by providing them with meals and access to our ground floor facilities and support.

Through our Families on the Move initiative, we are also extending assistance to longer-term families, delivering fresh produce to help ease their transition home. These are just some of the ways your support is strengthening our ability to serve families in need.

You can read more about the impact of our services and support to over 3,500 families in 2024. It would not be possible without the help of our generous and vital community.

Our services and support not only deliver substantial wellbeing outcomes and cost savings for families with sick or injured kids, but also significantly impact our health and education systems.

In 2020 Social Ventures Australia evaluated Ronald McDonald House Charities programs nationally, including our Houses, Learning Program, and support in hospitals. Their extensive report showed that for every $1 invested, $3.60 of social value is created.

Their report revealed that:

  • Families rely on our services and support during some of the most stressful periods of their lives.
  • The healthcare system relies on our services and support to help them focus on treating children in their care. We also free up hospital beds when children are discharged to stay overnight at the House and return for treatment through the day.
  • The education system relies on our Learning Program to help sick children maintain their education and learning.
